Halloween... Delayed "Rant"... Protecting the Safety and Welfare of Our Children... What is Up With the "Zombies"?

I happen to like Halloween a lot.  Not the scary and/or gross stuff...  But the fun stuff...  And where adults are concerned ---   I can deal with the sometime scary and gross decorations, costumes, etc...

However, me-thinks that the "Zombie" stroll down the streets of Rosendale ["March of the macabre Foot loose and fancy free zombies take over Rosendale" / http://kingston.ulsterpublishing.com/view/full_story/9716362/article--March-of-the-macabre-Foot-loose-and-fancy-free-zombies-take-over-Rosendale-?instance=home_bottom_left] --- took it a little too far ---  and I'm wondering if anyone else feels the same way (?)

Halloween parties and such generally have invitations.  One can choose to go or not.  One can leave the children with a sitter.  People know [more or less...] what to expect...

But when little Joe or Sally looks out thier window [in this case, it was way before Halloween...] to see people covered in blood and gore walking down the street...

Don't ya' think it might be a little traumatizing?

One of my grandchildren simply saw a picture of the Rosendale "Zombie" walk... on the front of the newspaper - and expressed concern / fear...

And why wouldn't she?  [It doesn't help that apparently one of her teachers told her class that thier generation was going to die before thier parents...]  --- when [front page, most recent "Kingston Times" / see link....] it looks like a bomb exploded nearby [at a wedding, no less...] or something?

Fun is fun - and I took my share of photos [as in the pics above / since modified...] last Halloween season.

But gross [Seriously, aren't events like the one just held in Rosendale potentially harmful to our children?] --- is gross!
