The City of Kingstons Veterans Day Observance will be held at City Hall (Chambers) today at 11am - beginning with an introduction by Veteran and Keynote speaker, Kingston City Police Chief Gerald Keller. There will also be a performance by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1386 Color Guard and a performance by the Kingston High School Alumni Choir - to be followed up by (outside) a Military Gun Salute. These events are sponsored by the Kingston Veterans Association [More information on all of the above is available in today's "Daily Freeman" ("Observances Scheduled..."; 11/11/09; P. A3)].

Thank You Robert J. Smith for all you have done on behalf of your wife and family - for all that you did (years ago) on behalf of Military Veterans (serving as a Veterans Hospital Chaplin) - for all that you did on behalf of Kingston Area Public Access (KAPA) television - and for that you continue to do on behalf of the City of Kingston!

Notes on Last Nights Kingston City Council Meeting are Pending:

[Photo by BF; Utilized with Permission]

One suggestion on reducing expenditures for 2010 (MaryAnne Parker) was to shut off the Citys Christmas display lights earlier [they are usually left up til around Feb or March].

-----------------------------------------------

If you have any suggestions on how to increase revenues and/or cut expenses [in regard to the 2010 City of Kingston budget] please feel free to post them here and/or email me at wingedbirdinflight@live.com. I will be preparing a list of "same" to present to City Council President and Alderman-at-Large James Noble Jr. and the rest of the City Council.

The first 2010 Budget-related meeting [since the Public Hearing] will be held tomorrow night - Nov. 12 - 7PM - at City Hall [KC Finance and Economic Development Committee]

Please scroll down for photos of local Veteran Memorials, notes on the Public Hearing [Mayors 2010 Budget Proposal] and more...
